Rongbuk Monastery  | |
 |  Rongbuk Monastery (at elevation 4800 meters ) is one of the highest monasteries in the world. It is also the last inhabited spot before Everest Base Camp, about 7 km distant. From Rongbuk Monastery the huge north face of Everest is clearly seen.
