该植物园有900多公顷，我们几个小时的参观也不过只是走过了它的百分之几，但是已经见识了很多独特罕见的热带植物以及热带雨林奇观。这里的植物70%是本地生长的，30%是从国外例如南美地区引进的。更加令我们心情舒畅的是我们还呼吸到了新鲜的空气，这对于我们常年生活在大城市的人来说真是非常难得的，这也是我来到云南旅游以来一个很深的感受，一到达云贵高原就感到这里的空气与别处不同，而且所到之处都是郁郁葱葱，和北方冬季满目枯枝的感觉完全不同，另外几个城市都非常地干净，看来云南成为旅游大省之后在各个方面的确做了不少努力。
